Report an error, send a record or a lead, ask a question, or tell us what the site gets wrong. Every message is read by the site's editor.

What happens next

The editor reads every message. Nothing you send is published.
A correction is checked against the source record. A fix is logged on What's new.
A tip or record is a lead. It is checked against public records before anything is reported.
If you left an email, you may get a reply. Replies are not guaranteed.

Before you write

For an emergency, call 911. For a police matter, contact the Altoona Police Department.

Do not send passwords, medical records or anything you cannot share. The desk cannot promise to keep a source confidential.

Your message and its topic are kept privately so the desk can see what readers ask about over time. An email address is deleted after 90 days.
